  1. No one, no nation, no civilization lasts forever. Climate change is just one of the problems we face and so many of them are very serious. So yes we are screwed, but how well, how many, how long we survive is still not yet determined.

The end of our civilization has always been inevitable. A soft landing was once possible. We are now committed to a hard landing, but why are we still so determined to go to unsurvivable.

The extinction of man will happen, but far past the end of the century would be preferable.

  2. Alferd E. Newman indeed – I wonder who this snippet is aimed at, we don’t need a genius with a Doctor of Philosophy degree at Oxford to tell us what average means, and looking at NASA/NOAA/Hong Kong/JMA stats a 1.5 degree (plus) global average anomaly won’t be freakishly lot and looking at the ever rising trend, it won’t be too long before it is a climate tipping point met. I haven’t seem alarmist headlines in mainstream media either – I think it was under reported, if this young fellow want’s society to take the subject seriously I think he needs to change his approach, because quite frankly this jewel leaves me cold. Maybe he was hit in the face too many times with his feeble analogy. \
