What Good Climate Comms Looks Like

October 14, 2022

I’ve pointed elsewhere on this page to poor climate communication. Here’s a positive example.

Short preview of a new Netflix series on the boundaries of our living planet.
Jason Box appears, among others. Super great imagery and graphics, and you can’t beat David Attenborough.

But people who warned about this were alarmists and just had a hidden agenda of a New World Order of oppressive socialism.

As long as there are bought politicians and clueless voters in rich countries to dismiss the science (and post doubt-mongering comments on social media), the hope-mongers are ice-skating uphill. Yes, we’ll continue to make impressive gains in sustainability tech and implementation and uptake, but as much as they are achieving, the clock is running out.

As Eric Rignot pointed out, at climatic time scales we won’t know if we’ve passed a tipping point until well after it happens.
