   It’s annoying that they show people lowering their thermostats in response to a heat wave. Just because it’s broiling outside doesn’t mean you need to make it cooler inside. (Window units are another story.)

   The power use goes up when you leave the thermostat alone and the outside temps go up.

   [My thermostat is set at 78°F during the day and shifts down to 75°F at 11:30 so it’s cooler when I go to bed…sometimes as early as 2am….]
