Merry Christmas.
"Iowa has logged 7X more Tornado Warnings today than the last 35 winters COMBINED."š§ https://t.co/29aBd763JY

When temperatures are 40 degrees above normal, and near 70 as far north as the border of MN in December⦠and with a coincident storm⦠well, your bound to get unprecedented extreme weather. Itās hard to justify these extremes w/o a changed climate. pic.twitter.com/xPoY8L3vpM

UPDATE: This is really happening.

There are currently 5 tornado warnings in effect in Iowa. Prior to today, in December, there was one last Friday and one in 2015.

Current view in Garden City, KS insane dust storm and absolutely howling winds, power plant reportedly recorded an 86mph wind gust just moments ago. Got so dark the street lights turned on. pic.twitter.com/e9kNOqIYNg

So we gusted to 84 mph at 111 pm here at Dodge City.
— NWS Dodge City (@NWSDodgeCity) December 15, 2021
To put that in perspective…
Our strongest thunderstorm wind gust at Dodge City was 79.4 mph on 6/23/2018.
This 84 mph wind was not from a thunderstorm but from the RAW power of the atmosphere itself.#kswx#wxtwitter #Windy

Wow. Another unprecedented weather event to add to 2021ās tally. Tornado expert Harold Brooks also tweeted that there has been only one December severe thunderstorm warning ever issued in Minnesota. Weāll likely see more today. https://t.co/hYrm8sDSjf

Brought to you by excess carbon pollution and meteorologists that weren't vocal enough, who should have been protesting in the streets on the climate issue, during the 1990's and 2000's on the climate issue, Tom. @MichaelEMann @tornadokid3
