Massive Floods in India Spark Denial on Twitter

August 8, 2020

Dr Andrew Dessler, one of the world’s most well regarded atmospheric experts, made a simple observation on twitter in regard to the current flooding in India.

Immediately attacked as a “scientist” (in quotes) by serial liar, grifter and egomaniac Michael Shellenberger (MA Anthropology, current Fox News, Breitbart darling..)

I jumped in thusly..

    Yep, ‘Mike Shellenberger’ is already synonymous in my head with ‘total dickhead’.

    Here I go again:

    Flood = Rain * Terrain

    Humans excel at modifying terrain. That’s why it’s important to emphasize the rainfall aspect of climate change (as AD does above) even though it’s the flooding that gets the news footage.

    BTW, have we just clocked Shellenberger as saying that the government should spend more money on something*?
    *The socialist project of taxpayer-funded flood management, in this case.

    BTW, I’m confused by the reference to the Sahel/Niger in that opening comment, when this is supposedly about India.
