Walter Munk mentioned in a talk that China’s reservoir increase is taken into account in assessing globally averaged Sea level rise (SLR)

At 4am I come up with some really brilliant plans, like building a water tunnel to Death Valley (86m below sea level).

Fill a ceramic sphere or bullet with spent nuclear fuel. Drill a hole 30 m deep in the ocean crust at its subduction point. Lower the nuclear fuel and backfill. Leave for 5,000,000,000 years. Calculate the quantity for sufficient energy to reach 2,000 degrees that can’t be cooled below 2,000 degrees by the crust thermal conductivity. It melts its way through the crust to the mantle and sinks to the outer core. The Core Syndrome.
They built the subway tunnel 70 feet below my home with an access shaft in the street (We were select personages waved through by the flag lady with the street district closed). We received the weekly Tunnel News paper with photos and borer reports for a couple years. It was very exciting. At first I almost started protests there but found that Kinder-Morgan pipeline from Alberta Tar Sands was 3 km further up the hill. Saved myself much embarrassment. Bit confusing with new pipeline Indigenous protests simultaneous 3 km from the new subway tunnel. The Alberta Tar Sands Petro Canada / Syncor terminal was 2 km from my home on the Burrard Inlet.
