    Krugman defending the inexplicable GND for being inexplicable and vague — there’s nothing inexplicable about Michael Shellenberger’s proposed Green Nuclear Deal:

      He certainly soft-pedaled the urgency of addressing climate change.

      He cited the decrease in deaths from extreme weather events as if that meant that climate scientists were being too alarmist, when it just means that more people had advance notice to get out of harm’s way before the storm or wildfire ravaged their communities and took away both their property and their livelihoods.

        If ever there was a purported problem that did not require an “urgent”, hasty, panicky, Thunbergy response, it’s climate change.
