Reposting: Mauri Pelto on Easton Glacier – 2012

December 21, 2019

On my first crowd-funded field trip with a science team, in 2012, I followed Mauri Pelton and his team up Easton Glacier in the Northern Cascades of Washington state.

Here he gives us a history lesson showing the story the surrounding landscape tells about a giant glacier’s retreat.

Kids don’t try this unless you have a good guide and strong cardio fitness (trust me).

My thumbnail is 15.4 km northeast of Easton Glacier & glacier/snow melt water very chills the air rolling past but I’ve no other glacier science.
