Andy Lee Robinson’s annual summary of Arctic Sea Ice volume loss.
Thanks for posting Peter! The future of the Arctic really does look grim now. We had hoped that 2012 was a fluke or an aberration but sadly 2019 confirms the trend. Here’s the Arctic Death Spiral I made shortly afterwards with the same data:
#Arctic sea ice volume for Sept in 2nd lowest place ever with an average 4,196 km³.That's a *quarter* of what it was just 40 years ago at 16,910 km³.We had hoped 2012 was a fluke, but 2019 reinforces the trend.#ClimateChange #ClimateCrisis #dataviz #climatebrawl pic.twitter.com/TIB2PXUD0R — Andy Lee Robinson (@ahaveland) October 9, 2019

Wipneus has made some other great charts on this thread: https://forum.arctic-sea-ice.net/index.php/topic,119.msg231974.html#msg231974
I’ve always loved that eminently clear method of displaying that data. (I’ve always hated the data itself.)
Another good display of the long term trend of the data is the Arctic Sea Ice Death Spiral graphic.
