Climate Denial and Treason seem to Go Together

September 25, 2019

Mick Mulvaney is acting White House Chief of Staff, and instrumental in withholding congressionally authorized and much needed military aid from the Ukraine (and lying about the reason why)– part of what’s been revealed in this week’s startling dump of phone transcripts from the Trump administration.

To help place climate denial in correct context with treason, I’ll just leave this here.

While Trump might be a bad POTUS, he may be a political genius. Remember that this telephone conversation with Ukraine took place “the day after” Mueller testified before congress. Trump had to have known that this would all come out so why did he do it? Answer: to take down Biden while communicating with his base that the dems are not as squeaky-clean as they claim. Now while it is true that Biden was cleared of this apparent wrong-doing in this debacle, I have seen a 2016 video of him claiming that he was able to use the threat of withholding $1B in aid to the Ukraine unless a prosecutor was fired (he was). None of this passes the stink test so it is time for Biden to step aside which would make room for someone else (Tulsi Gabbard, Kamala Harris, Elizabeth Warren, etc.)

So, this is far more complicated than Trump would like people to believe (shocking):

“From February 2015 to March 2016, Viktor Shokin was prosecutor general of Ukraine. His ouster was the result of pressure from a large consensus of Western nations, including the United States, that were concerned Shokin was at the center of a lot of the country’s corruption. Their concern peaked when, in February 2016, Shokin’s own deputy prosecutor, Vitaly Kasko, resigned, citing the corruption and cronyism within the office. “The General Prosecutor’s Office has become a dead institution, which nobody believes is independent,” Kasko said at the time.

Biden was one of the leaders of the effort to remove Shokin, and a month after Kasko’s resignation, he threatened to withhold American loan guarantees from Ukraine so long as Shokin was heading the prosecutor’s office. Christine Lagarde, the managing director of the International Monetary Fund, also threatened to withdraw financial support for Ukraine unless it cleaned up its corruption problem. Pretty much everyone recognized Shokin had to go, and a month later Ukrainian Parliament voted to remove him from office.”

Also, remember that Paul Manafort (Trump’s campaign manager) was tied directly with Ukrainian corruption:

All of this Biden and Clinton stuff is Trump throwing dirt on other people to keep the public from thinking he is covered with it himself. He does this tactic commonly, and if he’s a genius at anything – it’s that.

Please stop with the Biden smears. There’s a big difference between a VP pressuring another country on behalf of its own international goals, and with the consensus of many other countries, and a President pressuring another country to get some inside dirt on a political rival.

In the meantime, please do support the Democratic woman candidates. Please just be fair about it.

The “Biden smears” are unfair and unfortunate, but that’s just the way the Repugnants do business any more.

Support WARREN for president—-Harris for Veep—-let’s go with women all the way. Plenty of room for some men in the cabinet in a Warren administration.

Don’t forget to send $$$ to Amy McGraw in Kentucky—she is in a dead heat in the polls with Turtleface McConnell, aka Moscow Mitch. She acruallywants to help the coal miners and poor in her state rather than the corporations.

  2. […] I’ve pointed out that Acting White House Chief of Staff, Mick Mulvaney, who has facilitated the President’s ongoing treasonous behavior, is a major climate denier. […]
