News from Crazy Town: Hurricane Dorian – False Flag of the Deep State?
September 3, 2019
Just a reminder what we’re up against.
Right-wing commentator and conspiracy theorist Chris McDonald, who just last week said on his “The MC Files” show that Christians who oppose Donald Trump were betraying God, is showing just how seriously he takes that theory.
Along with “firefighter prophet” Mark Taylor, the subject of the Liberty University-connected film The Trump Prophecy, McDonald said last night that Hurricane Dorian was a “false flag.”
I repeat: They said the hurricane that is currently ravaging the Bahamas and has already killed 5 people is just a piece of fiction designed by the “Deep State” to make Trump look bad.McDonald insisted that it was not a coincidence that just as the news was focused on the fact that even though the Department of Justice had decided not to prosecute Comey for leaking memos chronicling his conversations with President Trump, the president and his associates were suggesting that Comey’s legal troubles were not over, when suddenly everyone turned their attention to the hurricane.Right-wing commentator and conspiracy theorist Chris McDonald, who just last week said on his “The MC Files” show that Christians who oppose Donald Trump were betraying God, is showing just how seriously he takes that theory.

Maybe I’m losing it, but this conversation just doesn’t make any sense—-3+ minutes of nonsensical babbling that is way beyond a “WHAT?—-It makes Omnologos look like a genius.

I lost track of the factual mistakes made by these 2 fractured fairy talers. Last one: not knowing the difference between “The Blitz” and “blitzkrieg”. Should be dreadfully embarrassing for anyone over 15 but probably isn’t for these shameless lax sphincters.
This is a good piece of reporting but I’ve come to hate reading these and probably won’t any more. They’ve never been particularly educational; I’ve met more than a few more interesting, meaningful, and connected already-diagnosed mentally ill people. These ideological departures from reality are no longer funny, shocking, surprising, or in any way boundary-stretching at this point. We know they’ll say anything because they have, innumerable times. We’ve seen and heard them spew completely moronic and almost psychotically non-sequitur arguments on everything–rape, abortion, climate, energy, war, religion (well, that’s sort of a definition of religion) and many other subjects. I’ve encountered hundreds of real people and internet trolls who have not only said equally stupid things that were shown to be wrong in multiple ways but they stuck with them through long, sometimes years-long debates anyway. The only things we should be discussing with or about them are how to separate them from their disinformation sources and get them into treatment.

Yes, and it should also be mentioned that we put money into these people’s pockets by clicking on their videos.

Why should we give any ataention on these lunatics. I know the Lunatics seems to have taken over the Asylum but still why give them any attention. This is just to absurd.

America has fallen very far from its roots where the majority of the founding fathers were deists.
http://deism.com/jeffersonversusrobertson.htm
Twenty three hundred years ago, Greek society (at least in Athens) was well on the way to extinguishing religion from educated society until the Romans brought it all back in spades. Similarly, the United States of America was founded on deist principles but lies told from church pulpits over the past 243 years resulted in most Americans believing in the supernatural.
A good lesson can be learned today by looking into the history of Sparta vs. Athens. In a nut shell, politics (a social disease of the mind) caused Sparta (conservative, more religious, militaristic) to see their political rivals in Athens (liberal, less religious, less militaristic) as enemies. Once these two city-states were divided (Athens fell first), they were easily conquered by Macedonians to the north then, eventually, Rome to the West.
With militarism, religion and conservatism on the rise in the USA, I wonder if America is following the path of barbaric Sparta. In such a world, science has no value other than developing military technology.

Americans are no Spartans
September 4, 2019 at 10:16 am
We’re pretty much the opposite.
September 4, 2019 at 11:38 am
That’s not what they beat into us in boot camp in the Marine Corps—-probably the same with Rangers, Airborne, and Seals. Someone even wrote a battle history of the Marine Corps and titled it “American Spartans”.
September 4, 2019 at 2:09 pm
Talking about America as a whole rather than the Marines. Obviously, you guys are different. I could go into a whole thing about the Lycurgun laws vs. American culture, but whatever. doldrom is dead right here.
We are Athens much more than Sparta. And Athens had far more religious influence than Sparta.
Not thumbing you down – it ticks me off, because it probably looks like I did.
September 4, 2019 at 2:51 pm
I know you didn’t thumb me down—-you are one of the folks here on Crock who is not afraid to say what’s on your mind rather than hide behind “thumbs”. The one who does all the down-thumbing on my comments is an impotent, stupid, and ignorant anal orifice that can’t begin to compete with us intellectually and therefore hits down thumbs with one hand while masturbating with the other (his only talent). I must have really bruised his fragile little ego sometime in the past to get him to behave so much like Trump.
Back to intelligent discourse. I agree that doldrom is dead on. Americans are definitely not Spartans, except for a small minority.
THE best course I took at the engineering school (and perhaps ever after) before I decided to leave for the real world was titled The Greeks, taught by a super smart and flamingly gay professor that covered everything from Lysistrata to Pericles to the Peloponnesian War. All the future engineers were complaining about how all the reading for the Greeks course was keeping them from studying for calculus and chemistry. Once I decided I was leaving, that was the only course I kept up on (end spent even more time on since I ditched the calculus)
Have kept reading about the Greeks since. One of the best books I’ve ever read is Gates of Fire by Steven Pressfield (1999) Paperback available from Amazon
“NATIONAL BESTSELLER • “An incredibly gripping, moving, and literate work of art, rarely does an author manage to re-create a moment in history with such mastery, authority, and psychological insight.”—Nelson DeMille”
A review by a reader:
“There are no words in the English language that can truly capture my feelings about this book. I read it, at least, a couple of times a year. Steven Pressfield is a great writer, but with Gates of Fire, he reaches a pitch of sublimity that rivals the gods. OK, enough with the hero worship. Seriously, this book is amazing. As a former Marine, and a bit of a classics buff, Gates of Fire speaks to me on so many levels. It’s one of the absolute best portrayals in fiction, of the ideals of duty, patriotism, and manly honor. It’s also highly realistic in it’s depiction of the psyche of the warrior. But I think, most importantly, it’s just a great story; full of action, adventure, unrequited love, sacrifice, honor, joy, pain, humor and sadness.
Pressfield has written a lot of good books—another that addresses the idea of “Spartan” is The Warrior Ethos (2011).
Other’s may disagree, but if you’re a fan of military history or fiction, or even if you’re just interested in Classical Western History, you will love this book”.

This stuff is a symptom, but a symptom of what? In any event of a falling level of trust in the institutions that supposedly bind people together as one nation.
September 4, 2019 at 10:13 am
It’s a symptom of the internet. America has always had more than its fair share of crazies. The internet just allows them a much larger stage.
Do we have more crazies than in the past by percentage? Maybe. There are certainly a lot of mental health issues at this point in time. The internet allows crazy thinking to flourish in a way it didn’t have in the past.
Does America have more crazies than other countries? Probably. A culture that values the individual far more than the community untethers the individual from the support of that community and causes issues that might not exist in other cultures. We place a far higher value on independent thinking here, too. That has pluses and minuses – the minuses being there are a lot of wacky notions.
And the falling trust in institutions definitely exists as well.

And once the crazies that are pushing AI get us past ANI and into AGI, we will likely quickly have ASI, at which point the machines will decide humans are a threat to the planet and terminate us. Would make a great movie.
September 4, 2019 at 2:15 pm
Reminds me of a bizarre article a few days ago. Apparently the greatest threat to humanity in the next 20 years is not AI, not climate change or environmental issues, not geopolitics – it’s a shrinking economy because there aren’t enough humans:
https://www.cnbc.com/2019/08/30/elon-musk-jack-ma-biggest-problem-world-will-face-is-population-drop.html
September 4, 2019 at 3:01 pm
Bizarre article indeed. Ma and Musk are egocentic rich guys who view the world from the businessman/entrepreneur perspective and think they know all just because they’ve had some success.
Talking about fertility levels dropping and THAT is what’s going to save us is moronic. Yes, human population IS going to drop drastically before long, but it will be because humans are dying in droves because of climate and ecological catastrophe, not because they’re not having babies—pretty hard to have a baby when you’re a corpse.

When the computer running AI can plug itself back in after I unplug it then ill be concerned!
September 4, 2019 at 3:04 pm
DUH! The SAI that terminates you will do so without you even knowing it, never mind letting ANY of us near its “plug”. Grow up and get serious, smurfy—-your juvenile attempts at jokes are insulting.

“This Is a Climate Emergency”: Islands Devastated by Dorian Are on the Frontlines of a Dying Planet
… The official death in the Bahamas is at seven but is expected to rise. On the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama, as many as 13,000 homes have been destroyed or heavily damaged. Rescue efforts have been hampered by widespread flooding. Some reports say 70 to 80% of the affected areas remains underwater, including the Grand Bahama International Airport. …

MY teachers told me if I didn’t have anything intelligent to contribute to a conversation beyond making puerile jokes ——- to SHUT UP.
It appears that some people on this site were never taught that, or how to reply to a comment so that the reply appears with the comment rather than as a new comment, thereby making us look for its antecedent.

I can’t tell whose comment you’re replying to. Is it this one ?

It does not take a genius to know that the earthquake off the Oregon coast was a 4.7km deep deep state distraction.

the old Earthquake off the Coast trick..
September 4, 2019 at 9:33 pm
Well it’s steering winds that decide it. There’s a huge lot of wind coming from some place blowing it around. It’s a form of weather warfare when there’s such an excessive amount of wind being generated.
