Somewhat of a Weekend Wonk bonus I just ran across.
Major news organization looking into the impact of climate fueled extreme weather events across the US heartland.

My most recent Yale Climate Connections video showed how scientists have traced the climate fingerprints in this series of events.

  1. Andy Lee Robinson Says:

Republicans and the fossil fuel industry have caused incalculable damage by politicizing climate change and turning it into a taboo subject.

And then there are the effects and impacts in the rest of the states – like Alaska for instance.

“Wildfires are ravaging the Arctic, with areas of northern Siberia, northern Scandinavia, Alaska and Greenland engulfed in flames.

Lightning frequently triggers fires in the region but this year they have been worsened by summer temperatures that are higher than average because of climate change.

Plumes of smoke from the fires can be seen from space.

Mark Parrington, a wildfires expert at the Copernicus Atmosphere Monitoring Service (Cams), described them as “unprecedented”.

*sigh*It’s sad that the Army Corps of Engineers guy has to say that “I’m not going to speculate about Climate Change.” This is an administration that would get you fired or demoted if you point out the Emperor is nekkid.
