      Field scientists are often…differently sane. When your greatest joy is sitting with your butt in a sling in the canopy hundreds of feet above the forest floor so you can collect examples of one particular type of ant, the concept of personal risk fades into the background.

      Little need to make the costly attempt at Antarctica when there are opportunists swarming all over the arctic, including the Arctic Ocean seabed and the now-exposed mineral-rich shorelines and valleys throughout the arctic.
