Another “trendy” solution to an almost non-existent problem. I’d bet that taking the train or a plane would yield a much smaller carbon footprint per passenger and produce better sleeping conditions. Any bets on how badly injured the riders will be if a Cabin is involved in an accident?

An aside—-article in yesterday’s WashPost says that self-driving cars are likely to produce a lively business in “brothels on wheels”. I am not kidding.

Au contraire. This is an excellent adaptive option for highly travelled routes, like LA/SF or Bos/Wash, where the trains are crowded. Flying has a much higher carbon footprint, and getting to the airports and through TSA is a serious hassle. Buses can be added more easily for crunch times, but I expect getting good drivers is a limiting factor.

My SIL has enjoyed non-sleeper but modern buses between New Orleans and Tallahassee. They have Wi-Fi, blankets, and reclining seats.
