Colbert on Fire. Throws down on Stephen Miller – Trump’s Junior Woodchuck Fascist

February 14, 2017

The airwaves were abuzz yesterday with astounded reactions to Trump “senior advisor” and Eichmann-in-Training Stephen Miller’s performance on the Sunday talk shows.
But best response by far came from Stephen Colbert.

Washington Post:

Senior White House policy adviser Stephen Miller made the rounds on the Sunday talk shows over the weekend, and his comments about voter fraud have earned him justifiably dim reviews. The Washington Post’s Philip Bump and Fact Checker Glenn Kessler dealt with those claims in depth.

But amid all the baseless and false statements about electoral integrity, Miller did something even more controversial: He expanded upon his boss’s views of whether judges are allowed to question President Trump’s authority. And at one point, Miller even said Trump’s national security decisions “will not be questioned.”

Here’s the key exchange, with “Face the Nation’s” John Dickerson (emphasis added):

DICKERSON: When I talked to Republicans on the Hill, they wonder, what in the White House — what have you all learned from this experience with the executive order?

MILLER: Well, I think that it’s been an important reminder to all Americans that we have a judiciary that has taken far too much power and become, in many cases, a supreme branch of government. One unelected judge in Seattle cannot remake laws for the entire country. I mean this is just crazy, John, the idea that you have a judge in Seattle say that a foreign national living in Libya has an effective right to enter the United States is — is — is beyond anything we’ve ever seen before.

The end result of this, though, is that our opponents, the media and the whole world will soon see as we begin to take further actions, that the powers of the president to protect our country are very substantial and will not be questioned.

“Will not be questioned.” That is an incredible claim to executive authority — and one we can expect to hear plenty more about. Trump has beaten around this bush plenty, yes. But Miller just came out and said it: that the White House doesn’t recognize judges’ authority to review things such as his travel ban.

“The Ninth Circuit Court? How many divisions do they have?”

That’s some pretty dangerous rhetoric. Did Miller just out the real Trump agenda a bit too prematurely?
Some have speculated that Trump and his people are not making mistakes with this kind of talk, but are launching trial balloons to see what they can get away with and to what extent his base will blindly rally to his side despite the boundaries of lawlessness that he is pushing.

    • Earl Mardle Says:

Fortunately, his base think they won and now they can go back to molesting the budgerigars (or whatever turns them on) because Trump Has IT. They really don’t expect to have to do anything for at least the next 4 years.

  2. It seems to me that a variation on this scenario occurred in 1933.

Miller reminds me of Goebbels. Just looking at his flat, empty eyes creeps me out.

YES! That thought was lurking in the back of my brain but never came forward until you mentioned it. And the connection to the Nazis and Goebbels is clear. Colbert’s quote of “I have become death, the destroyer of worlds” comes from Oppenheimer, who was talking about the atomic bomb—–we now have a s**t bomb of potentially world-destroying size to deal with in Trump and his minions.

  3. dumboldguy Says:

Lord love a duck!, JFC!, and HOLY SHIT!! This insane 31-year old is a senior adviser to Trump? ” Junior Woodchuck Fascist” says it all, and what makes is even crazier is that this “Eichmann-in-Training” is a JEW who “…became a conservative after reading Guns, Crime, and Freedom, a book by National Rifle Association CEO Wayne LaPierre”. That last bit of info from Wiki, where you will find Miller linked to our newest Confederate General Jeff Sessions, Michelle Bachmann, and Richard Spencer, among others.

Google “Steven Miller white house” and you will get enough hits to keep you laughing and/or horrified for hours. My favorite is the Huffington Post piece titled”Stephen Miller Has White House Aides Move His Sleeping Coffin Out Of Frame For His Sunday TV Interviews”.

Colbert’s piece was good but IMO this one is even better.

    • I loved Colbert’s segment, but Noah’s was great as well.

It’s good to be able to laugh when you’re staring the the 4th damn reich in the face.

Honestly, dumbold, I don’t think I’ve ever seen or heard anyone who came across as inately creepier than Stephen the Sociopath Miller.

  4. Can we all spare a moment for Sweden in this madness. Head in hands moment to be honest. These belong tothe same group who think Trump is a NAZI

    • dumboldguy Says:

If Objective Journal were truly objective and not just another place for some self-satisfied twits to rant, it might consider that these “Swedish Woman” are exercising THEIR right to do something that APPEARS to be hypocritical for some greater good? That THEY decided wearing long pants and covering their hair was worth it? Good for them!

  5. Jim Housman Says:

I’m not a big fan of Colbert but this has to be one of the best take-downs of any politician or political entity ever!

That Miller guy scared me even before I saw him live. Just a written bio was nauseating.

  6. Ron Voisin Says:

    God bless Colbert.

This was really funny (for those stupid amongst us).
