Jeff Sessions is Exhibit A: Climate Denial and Racism

February 9, 2017

Is new Attorney General Jeff Sessions a Climate Denier?  The record says yes.

Is Sessions a Racist?
Racists seem to think so. They’re celebrating his elevation to power.

Media Matters:

White Nationalists Hail Sessions’ Confirmation

Daily Stormer: Sessions’ Confirmation Means “We Are One Step Closer To Solidifying Trump’s Authoritarian Dictatorship.” Andrew Anglin, who runs neo-Nazi website Daily Stormer, celebrated Sessions’ confirmation and contrasted him to African-American former attorneys general Loretta Lynch and Eric Holder by writing, “They were constantly standing up to Barack like, ‘Barack, m8, u b n too hard on dem wites’”:

David Duke: “Thank God After 8 Horrible Years Of Black Radical Marxists We Finally Have An AG Who Will Defend Decent American People – Rather Than Thugs.” Notorious anti-Semite and white nationalist David Duke, who is a former Klu Klux Klan leader, was ecstatic over Sessions’ confirmation, sending a series of tweets praising Sessions and attacking his African-American predecessors:

Paul Ray Ramsey: “Great News! Hopefully, He Can Start Targeting Domestic Terrorist Groups Such As #BlackLivesMatter.” White nationalist blogger Paul Ray Ramsey, who goes by the name Ramzpaul, celebrated the pick on Twitter:

Hunter Wallace: “Congratulations, Attorney General Jeff Sessions!” Hunter Wallace, whose real name is reportedly Brad Griffin, is an anti-Semitic writer who is also a board member for the white supremacist hate group Council of Conservative Citizens. He celebrated Sessions’ confirmation with a Confederate Flag-themed version of the racist “Pepe” meme. On his website, Wallace wrote, “Suck it, shitlibs! It is a new day at DOJ!”:

    Was there ever any doubt?

    From Slate: http://www.slate.com/blogs/the_slatest/2017/01/11/jeff_sessions_hearing_the_confederacy_segregation_and_racism_that_lasts.html

When activists called for the removal of the Confederate flag from its official positions of honor in various Southern states. Sessions was offended by this, he said:

“It is not appropriate for us to erase history and who we are and our ancestors. I had ancestors—my great grandfather was killed at Antietam. I don’t think he was an evil person. He was called to serve his country as he knew it at that time and he did his duty…”

George Wallace was the Alabama governor and third-party presidential candidate whose motto was “segregation now, segregation tomorrow, segregation forever.” When he died in 1998, Sessions remembered him fondly:

“He’ll be remembered as one of the most formidable third-party candidates in this century, as a person who challenged the liberal elite in America”.

An individual who’s about to become the United States’ top law enforcement official has implied that an armed defense of actual human slavery is among America’s most “fabulous” accomplishments, and he’s nostalgic for segregationism because it drove the “liberal elite” bonkers.

I had an ancestor who lived in the forest so I’m offended when forests are cut down or killed by climate catastrophe (Pine Bark Beetles, fires, drought, floods, etc.) My tradition beats his tradition; it’s been going on 40,000 times longer.

OOOPS—-I left off part of the quote from the cited article—-the part where Sessions depicts slavery and the southern rebellion as “fabulous accomplishments” and “tremendous achievements”. Yep, we know “who he is” for sure.

“So this is a huge part of who we are and the left is continually seeking in a host of different ways it seems to me—you know, I don’t want to be too paranoid about this, but they seek to delegitimize the fabulous accomplishments of our country by finding all the problems and highlighting them continually and ignore the tremendous achievements we’ve obtained.”

It is making me feel quite nauseous… 😦

I bet this arsehole doesn’t even know what Marxism is. Welcome to the middle ages.

  4. Lionel Smith Says:

There is a darkness in the heart of America. Things are getting cloudy over here too in the UK where there is so much political ‘smog’ to go with the increasing amounts of the real smog in urban areas.

    • dumboldguy Says:

There is a “darkness in the heart of America”, you say? The seeds of that “darkness” were planted when America was colonized, and the darkness that lies in the hearts of too many humans everywhere came to fruition as the “colonists” pillaged the environment, killed the natives, and brought in enslaved people so the few could get rich at the expense of the many. Just as Britain, France, Germany, Belgium, The Netherlands, Italy, Russia, Japan, and so many other countries did in the old days of “empires”. Global capitalism is the new imperialism, and it’s producing more than “smog”.

And in keeping with the scumbag nature of Sessions and Repugnants from Alabama, the Alabama governor and attorney general are engaging in some scumbaggery of their own in filling his vacant seat in the senate.

The ghosts of George Wallace, Jefferson Davis, and PGT Beauregard are high-fiving in hell over Jefferson Beauregard III’s appointment as AG. What a grand tradition his name upholds—-his granddaddy was given that name to commemorate two of the heroes of the Lost Cause, he made Sessions’ daddy JBS II, and Session’s daddy made our little racist JBS III in the long line of shame.
