  1. Ron Voisin Says:

This canard that no science runs counter to CAGW is just that…a pitiful canard.

    There is plenty to debate.

And your ALARMIST confidence of position should make it a simple decision to decimate your opponents in debate.

    • grindupbaker Says:

Suppose one is only debating 9 opponents. What then ?

      • Ron Voisin Says:

Find 8 more for the position of the one. OR…if you think the non-alarmist cannot find additional defenders of the non-alarmist position, have the debate with those willing to participate.

Alarmists refuse to debate for one reason and one reason only…their position is technically indefensible even if emotionally robust.

        • grindupbaker Says:

Or you could lop a couple of arms off one. More brutal but less babble to plough through than your stuff. Hobson’s choice.

          • Ron Voisin Says:

My heavens, are you really so insulated from fact as to think the money favors anti-alarm. The ratio of alarmist money to non-alarmist is greater than 1000:1.

Nonetheless, lets just have a real debate. One that you are convinced you will handily win. So let it happen.

Like almost all deniers these days – you are sounding increasingly unhinged in the face of the now totally obvious reality of of man-made climate change.

There virtually no climate scientists on Earth who support the conspiracy theorist crackpots and deniers. They are so vanishingly rare that the dozen or so who work for the fossil fuel lobby have become household names due to them being wheeled out at every opportunity.

Your ravings are those of the deluded.

  2. Tom Bates Says:

These people are not acting as scientists, they are simply acting as a pressure group to keep the money and power coming to them, this is a lobby and has zero to do with the actual science of climate change.

  3. Ron Voisin Says:

What ever is going to happen is going to happen in geologic time and not instantaneous Armageddon time.

And the wealthier humanity is at the Armageddon Moment (should it unlikely come to pass)…the better we will deal with it…what ever IT is.

    • Mike Male Says:

Do us a favour, get your brakes checked, drive flatout towards a cliff, drive over the edge, slam on the brakes before you hit the bottom. Cheers. Idiot.

    • Lionel Smith Says:

“What ever is going to happen is going to happen in geologic time and not instantaneous Armageddon time.”

Writes he who cannot envisiopn the mere fraction of geological time in which we have elevated GHG levels and temperatures (and note the ice has still been melting at a greater rate, tell us how much heat energy is required to drive the triple point phase change of H2O compared to a rise in temperature), disrupted ecosystems such that many are now falling apart.

Get a handle on geological time FFS: and now look up Anthropocene.

      Oh here you are:

use your time more wisely Voisin.

  4. Peter, would you mind checking the auto-filter? Thanks.

    • lesliegraham1 Says:

That’s what I was wondering. I’ve been lurking here for years but just lately this blog seems to be going downhill lately.
Any sensible discussion is disrupted by the usual crackpots parroting the same old wearisome thousand-times-falsified garbage that they spam to every other climate related comments thread on the net.
Which is exactly what the trolls intend of course.
Are you going to let them ruin this blog too Peter?

      • Not that this blog couldn’t use some moderation, but just to be clear: The wordpress auto-filter swallows posts with 2 or more links, which is why my post got buried.

      • dumboldguy Says:

Everything tastes pretty bad since the election, but I agree that Crock has been leaving an especially bad taste lately—-the denier whores and trolls have been emboldened by the election of President Pussy Grabber, are losing control (not that they ever had much). and are spewing their BS to excess.

Perhaps Peter could have a “moronic deniers week” each month on Crock? Let the flaming anal orifices go wild for five days, and then ban them for the rest of the month so that the rest of us can have intelligent discussions?

      • Peter, I think you should leave the comments as they are written… the thumb down is a very good troll indicator of a troll, and it is important not to let a site become “an echo of your voice shouting down a well”…

Voisin is very similar to a Character in The Princess Bride, Vizzini..

Vizzini: I can’t compete with you physically, and you’re no match for my brains.

        Westley: You’re that smart?

Vizzini: Let me put it this way. Have you ever heard of Plato, Aristotle, Socrates?

        Westley: Yes.

        Vizzini: Morons.

He was hoisted on his own petard….

Modern businesses have internal professional groups responsible for “Risk Management” for such purposes as business continuance, loss prevention and good management. Ron Voisin & Co. note that they are not called the ALARMIST department. They use tools like projected sea level rise tables, created by science and scientists in their work. The protesting scientists at the AGU are not just climate scientists, they span a wide area and are all concerned at the latest careless disregard for science and scientific discipline. We all owe much to science, including our lives. Health-wise, travel wise and living wise. We should all be very concerned too.

Temperatures are rising, accelerated by the greenhouse gases that we are emitting into the sky, ice is melting, water is expanding, sea level is rising, plants and animals are struggling. Weather is wielding. Science is warning, it is happening, face it.

It is crazy to continue building in sea level rise zones, to keep on drilling new oil reserves.

When the white coats protest, we must be in trouble. Face it. Try supporting them. They are working for you and me.

“I’m a scientist who has gotten death threats. I fear what may happen under Trump.

I fear the chill that could descend. I worry especially that younger scientists might be deterred from going into climate research (or any topic where scientific findings can prove inconvenient to powerful vested interests). As someone who has weathered many attacks, I would urge these scientists to have courage.”

The fate of the planet hangs in the balance.

  6. Jim Hunt Says:

My own personal take on the same video, in an Arctic context:

    December 2016 Arctic Report Card

Sea ice has no agenda. It just melts.

Out of the labs and into the streets?
