#Earth2Ivanca: Gore Trip into Mordor

December 6, 2016

More on this as it develops.

Washington Post:

As Donald Trump continues to indicate that he might be willing to change his position on climate change, which he has long called a “hoax,” the president-elect met Monday with former vice president Al Gore, a prominent activist in the fight against global warming.

Gore was in New York for the Climate Reality Project’s 24-hour live broadcast, “24 Hours of Reality,” and was invited to Trump Tower to discuss the topic by Trump’s oldest daughter, Ivanka, who is not registered with a political party and has pushed her father to adopt some positions usually promoted by Democrats.

“I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect. It was a sincere search for areas of common ground,” Gore told reporters after spending about 90 minutes at Trump Tower in Manhattan during the lunch hour Monday. “I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the president-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I’m just going to leave it at that.”

Second video clip is marked “private”. (?)

Gore trip to Mordor, indeed. LOL I wonder if Gore was given a souvenir ball cap? Black with a Red Eye of Sauron emblem? (Make Mordor Great Again?). Some side notes about what really happened in Mordor.

“I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump”.

    (1) Gore met with Ivanka to get some tips on how to deal rationally and intelligently with someone who is irrational and unintelligent, particularly WRT climate change. Similar to what one does before entering a ward at a mental hospital—-check with the guards about the inmate’s “quirks” and delusions.

“The bulk of the time was with the president-elect, Donald Trump. I had a lengthy and very productive session with the president-elect. It was a sincere search for areas of common ground”

    (2) See (1) as to why it was “lengthy”—-it took Gore a while to fully explore how F-ed up Trump is. “Very productive” means that Gore is now fully aware of how difficult it’s going to be to make progress on climate change under Trump. Since Trump has shown himself to be the antithesis of sincere, the only “sincere searching” must have been Gore looking for help from the Almighty. Trump’s recent comments in the NYT interview on climate change showed that there is NO common ground—-his “open mind” is closed.

“I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I’m just going to leave it at that.”

    (3) Can be interpreted as politeness and relief that he escaped alive and with his sanity reasonably intact. Was probably going to look for a shot of Gore Kentucky Bourbon to settle his nerves. To be cynical, the “to be continued” part is the ONLY area in which they may have found common ground—-exploring a joint Trump-Gore venture to get rich by investing in green energy (with appropriate government subsidies, bailouts if needed, and protection under tax and bankruptcy law, of course).

    • Sounds accurate. My wife says that Trump is a narcissistic borderline personality. Thus the sway of appeals to his vanity – such as with the compliments he received from Putin – although he has been courting Putin for quite some time, and has been seeking to get into Moscow real estate since the 1980s, before the breakup of the Soviet Union.

Frankly he makes me think of a mafia don – with all the emphasis put on loyalty and rewarding loyalty and personal gain rather than whether or not someone is remotely qualified, the common good or the good of the nation. What can I squeeze? Who can I count on to help me? How can I reward them? And with all of the recent picks from Goldman Sachs the rise in the stock he owns in that company has been yuge!

But the unwillingness to learn anything he doesn’t already know, the lack of an attention span and lack of self-control illustrated by the attacks upon Rosanna and the Khan family, the furious tweeting in the early hours of the morning… I can’t believe mafia dons would get away with such weaknesses and survive for any length of time.

As for climate, try if you might to change his mind, he has his investments and he has loyalists who would stand to lose a great deal of money if he were to side against fossil fuel. What ever progress you might make by appealing to an as of yet undiscovered and malnourished better nature would quickly be undone.

  2. Alternative viewpoint here: “Al Gore meets with Ivanka Trump and her father” http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2016/12/al_gore_meets_with_ivanka_trump_and_her_father.html . But, I suppose y’all still adhere to inexplicable psychological projection – being what you claim to despise – and while demanding everyone to be open minded and inclusive, you’ll close your minds to what’s there and demand everyone to ignore. Remember, I have no fear of reading YOUR material, that’s why I’m here, and it’s why I use verbatim quotes from your heroes as much as I do. Hat tip to anonymous commenter “Sir Charles”, by the way, for posting the “Which Makes More Sense” infographic at a prior comment section, I’ve used it twice now at GelbspanFiles.

Anyway, for those of us who embrace critical thinking over emotion-based discrimination, after 20 years of basic darkness we seem to finally be seeing a light at the end of the AGW tunnel. For Al Gore and all his followers, the light they see now at the end of the tunnel is the Trump administration locomotive pulling a new from end-to-end EPA freight train.

    • dumboldguy Says:

It simply doesn’t get any more delusional than:

“….for those of us who embrace critical thinking over emotion-based discrimination, after 20 years of basic darkness we seem to finally be seeing a light at the end of the AGW tunnel…the Trump administration locomotive pulling a new from end-to-end EPA freight train.”

      Get some help, Russell.

      • Lionel Smith Says:

He won’t find real help at American Stinker.

        • dumboldguy Says:

No he won’t get any help, real or unreal, since American Stinker is just part of the echo chamber/circular firing squad used by right wing morons and climate change deniers to spread their lies. Russell mentions it only in a mutual backscratching sense—-they print his horseshit, he gives them a plug, and the circle of ignorance and lies is completed.

Notice how Russell is still trying to get us to go to GlobsofS**TFiles? I will say it again—-open up that cesspool site to outside comments and we will visit you there, Russell.

          • So, select one of my A.T. articles about the smear of skeptic climate scientists, detail precisely what within it proves that I deny climate change, and then do a numbered list of exactly what the lies are and how you prove it, and submit it as a guest post here at Crocks, or at DailyKos, or any other friendly place. There is nothing in the world stopping you from doing that, your pals would call you a hero. Don’t you want to be a hero? What you come up with could be sent straight on to Eric Schneiderman as evidence of a larger Exxon-funded plot. So what’s holding you back?

I don’t have a comment section at GelbspanFiles, as I said at the outset there, because I do not have the time to devote to answering them. Meanwhile, the rest of you might want to look up the definition of “Streisand Effect”, and then ask yourselves what exactly at my blog is “d.o.g.” so afraid of at my place, and why it is that he thinks the rest of you can’t be trusted to look into what’s there and arrive at your own conclusions about what you see. If you are certain my blog is wall-to-wall lies fed to me by bundlers of illicit money, forget about “d.o.g.” and do the guest post work that he refuses to do for him. There’s nothing stopping you from doing that, either.

          • dumboldguy Says:

Russell is getting desperate—-look at him begging us to pay him some attention and boost his hit count on his site and other trash sites like American Stinky Thinking. He once again evades questions about the lack of a comment section on GobsofS**Tfiles by saying he “doesn’t have time”, yet he has the time to come here and trash up Crock threads (in addition to the time he spends whoring for climate change denial at AT and Heartland). LOL—how transparent and pathetic. Go away, Russell—-you’ve worn out your welcome here.

  3. Mr. Bates, what you’ve just written is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever read. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone who reads it is now dumber for having read it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on your soul. (Thanks to “Billy Madison”)

    • dumboldguy Says:

Were you really speaking to Russell Cook rather than Tommy Bates? (It IS easy to confuse the two, since neither one knows any science and both are rather delusional).

Thank you for expressing my thoughts and the thoughts of everyone else who has ever had to read Russell’s crap on Crock. Well said.

    • @Warrick Dawes: Luv it. Nowhere so far in this comment section does anyone named “Bates” appear, and no comment within this comment section fits the bill as someone Crocks readers would criticize, except for mine. Classic example of how enviro-activists proceed on preconceived conclusions, then?

So, it is safe to assume that you are responding to me. Since there is unlimited virtual space here, could you explain in terms that otherwise disinterested bystanders would understand, what precisely is incoherent and irrational within my first comment above, and why there would be any reason for “God to have mercy on my soul”? Why not additionally pick any of my online articles or GelbspanFiles blog posts on the baselessness of the ‘industry-corrupted skeptic climate scientists’ accusation, and detail in exact detail what is incoherent, irrational or just plain dead wrong and provably so in it?

Every time I come into hostile territory, I offer enviro-activists more than ample opportunity to defend their accusations, a virtual baseball on a tee to hit in Babe Ruth-style home run fashion clean into the next county. But you fellows never even take a swing at it with any hard evidence you have stashed away somewhere. All I see is name-calling, with pleas beseeching me to go away and for the bloggers to ban my words. I feel embarrassed for you fellows, it’s as though you need some kind of safe space that’s so trendy on college campuses lately. Ask yourselves why it is that one of my biggest critics here at Crocks has yet to hit me so hard with evidence against me that would make me cry out for refuge in a safe space? Claim he has already done so and that I’m too nuts to comprehend it, if it makes any of you feel better, but you’ll never be able to link straight to the guy’s comment where the evidence is seen, will you?

Once again, using the words I suggested to editor Lifson at that AmericanThinker piece, Al Gore and the rest of you need to figure out what your exit strategy is. The train is about to run over all of you, your dear leaders will no longer be in control of how the global warming narrative is framed, and the larger disinterested public is going to hear a side of it that’s long been hidden from them, including the origins and people surrounding the ‘industry-corrupted skeptic climate scientists’ accusation. That is the reality of the situation, and y’all are going to have to deal with it, possibly including the “climate change denier” trials you’ve been clamoring for …. except your dear leaders are going to be the ones in need of the finest lawyers that Steyer/Soros money can buy.

      • dumboldguy Says:

We’ve responded to your crap on this thread, Russell, so you can turn in your time sheet to Heartland and get paid your denier whore’s dollar. Then go buy some groceries and go away until your $$$$ runs low and you have to whore some more.

I’m going to coin a new acronym to describe Russell—DDODD—-Double Down on Denier Delusions. He has earned it with this train play—–“The train is about to run over all of you, your dear leaders will no longer be in control of how the global warming narrative is framed, and the larger disinterested public is going to hear a side of it that’s long been hidden from them, including the origins and people surrounding the ‘industry-corrupted skeptic climate scientists’ accusation”.

And guess what, Russell? Mother Nature is in charge of “how the global warming narrative is framed” and she’s telling us something right now with the Arctic and Global sea ice situation and the three hottest years on record right in a row. Oh, sorry—-forgot you don’t know (or do) any science—-you just spread your lying denier horseshit. The “disinterested public” will soon hear Mother Nature’s side also—-Wait!—-She’s already talking to them with wildfires, droughts, tornadoes, torrential downpours, floods and other extreme weather.
