Samantha Bee: Listening to Trump Supporters

March 15, 2016

No discussion of climate change. But if you’re wondering what really goes on in Trump supporter brains, Samantha Bee goes where none of us have the stomach to tread.

This Trump could spark a WW3 and then being the first trying to escape in his Boeing.

In Nov if it boils down to a choice between Trump and Clinton I believe I will write in the name Anonymous.

I hope you’ll recognize that this election is too critical to opt out. I remember in 2000 we were hearing from the Ralph Nader people that Al Gore was ‘the establishement”, in the pocket of big oil, ‘there’s not a dime’s worth of difference between Al Gore and George Bush”, etc
Turns out there was more than a dime’s worth of difference, and we are still digging out of that hole. Please consider that there is
a Supreme Court to be retaken – first priority in saving democracy.

      • dumboldguy Says:

Ditto on all that. Anyone who is unable to recognize that Clinton is by far the lesser of two evils has not been paying attention for the last 50 years. A vote for Anonymous could be a vote for Trump.

        • Lionel Smith Says:

I agree as anybody has seen a certain film, or read the books that it was based upon, knows ‘[in the service] we must always chose the lesser of the two weevils’.

So do cast a vote, I cannot being in the UK but I still vote even when my area provides very little chance of ‘a change in the guard’, sometimes tactical voting is the better option but that won’t work in my neighbourhood either.

Suggest you read Sheldon Wolin’s book “Democracy Incorporated: Managed Democracy and the Specter of Inverted Totalitarianism.”

Or watch Hedges 8 part interview with Wolin before he passed.

I thought these young people comported themselves quite well. But everything they said could also be said about Sarah Palin. In both cases, WHAT RECORD is being discussed? We get that he’s not ‘status quo’ and is excellent at presenting himself as a ‘Ill-take-no-bvllsh8t’ kinda-guy, but is that really what it takes to get handed the nuclear football? Trump has no experience in politics, foreign policy, or any kind of governance. His bizarre claim to ‘build a wall’ (something like 40% of latino immigrants fly here) is just pure demagoguery: might as well promise a pink unicorn for every family, while you’re at it. And temperamentally, he’s a loose cannon. Which Trump will govern? Why vote for him if you even have to ask that question?

Lord love a duck, but there is NOTHING going on in those Trump supporters brains that resembles rational thought. It’s pure amygdala-centered belief rather than conclusions reached by thinking.

Obama closes speeches with “God bless the United States”—-those of us that believe there is a God and that he cares at all about humans need to start saying “God HELP the United States”.

Super Tuesday is over, and it went badly…. the future is grim. One would like to think that perilous times would bring out the sober-up and fly right mentality. But. No. It would seem to just be tipping most people over the edge into psychosis and a break from reality altogether.

    • dumboldguy Says:

Super Tuesday “went badly and the future is grim”? Hardly, since Clinton versus Trump is the matchup most likely to keep the White House in Democrat’s hands and may even help the Dems retake the Senate and make some inroads in the House.

I for one am looking forward to watching Clinton destroy the steaming pile of **** when the debates begin. Brains and programs versus bluster, ego, ignorance, and bullshit. (Unless, of course, most people ARE “tipping over the edge into psychosis and a break from reality altogether”, in which case it’s game over for the country and the planet).
