Neil DeGrasse Tyson: Lincoln Set Us on a Scientific Path

Neil DeGrasse Tyson points out that one of Abraham Lincoln’s greatest contributions was the founding of the National Academy of Science, the closest thing we have to a “Supreme Court of Science” – which has advised congress and Presidents ever since.

The National Academy has been crystal clear on Climate Change since 1979, which made projections for climate warming almost identical to contemporary estimates.

    Eloquent in use of references to the original speech, and a powerful statement of our current challenge in governing a nation which places to low value on science in general.
