Denier Roy Spencer on Paris and COP21

Roy Spencer is of course, most famous for consistently misreading his own data for some decade or more, insisting that the planet was cooling, even during some of the fastest warming years of the last millennium.
He remains the “official climatologist of the Rush Limbaugh Show”.
Must be a good gig. The wronger you are, the more fans and funding you attract.

Why ISIS Should Support COP21 in Paris…
After the horrific terror attacks in Paris last night, there is considerable speculation over the possible cancellation of the COP21 climate talks in Paris in a couple of weeks.
I will remind you that President Obama has stated that the threat of climate change is greater than the threat of terrorism. I will also remind you that many believe that ISIS would not have arisen if not for climate change, specifically, drought in Syria caused by your SUV.
It is only logical that ISIS should be supportive of COP21 in Paris, and that the conference should go on as planned. To enlightened minds, terrorism is clearly just a consequence of climate change. Fix the weather, and terrorism will go away.
If terrorism is such a minor, contained threat (as Obama just stated yesterday), and global warming is really the overriding threat facing humanity, how can we consider cancelling – or even postponing – COP21?
After all, isn’t COP21 our last, final, last chance to Save the Earth?
Just ignore centuries of history which demonstrates that the strict followers of the Koran have a holy mandate to take over the world for Islam, killing anyone who will not submit.
Yes, all of the world’s politicians who have supported a COP21 agreement should still plan on attending. And they should reach out to ISIS to join them in building a better world…a world without droughts.
In fact, in solidarity with the gun-control measures many of those politicians support (and which French law follows), any personal security personnel accompanying them should be unarmed.

Let’s not forget that Roy Spencer and John Christy published some bad science in the early-to-mid 1990s which may have been in the wild for 10 years until 2003 when RSS discovered algebraic errors in the UAH algorithm. RSS published the errors in SCIENCE (the journal of the AAAS :: American Association for the Advancement of Science) where Spencer and Christy acknowledged the errors in the letters section. Nothing wrong here since we are all humans, humans make mistakes, and science is self-correcting. What is wrong is that Spencer and Christy continued to deceive the public through the popular media. I didn’t know Exxon Mobil even had climate scientists.
Besides, isn’t this allegation kind of like investigating farmers to determine if they hid the risks of choking on food from the public? I seriously doubt that Exxon knew anything that wasn’t already common knowledge in the climate community, the classroom, the movie theater, TV, pop culture, etc., etc.

At the risk of starting a religious or theological Crocks war…

Compare with Jesus (in an undeniably self-referential parable): “But those mine enemies, who would not that I should reign over them, bring them here and slaughter them before me.” (Luke 19:27)
Were it not for being constrained by secular and humanist enlightenment, Christianity would still be hanging, torturing, burning, killing and warring in the name of Jesus.
It’s also interesting that Muhammad was familiar with that Christian Bible. Add to Jesus’ the words of Paul –– “At the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord” –– and you have to wonder if Christianity’s triumphalism inspired Muhammad’s own, and, indeed, to trump it.

Why should this comment start a “religious war” on Crock? You nailed it. Most Crockers are pretty well-informed and know that ALL humans of ALL “religious” persuasions have been slaughtering each other in the name of their “gods” and greed since the very beginning. Remember Cain and Able?
Humans are infected with the Wetiko Disease, unfortunately, and the more of us there are, and the more “advanced” we become, the more it manifests itself.
When humans existed in small familial hunter-gatherer bands, there was undoubtedly sibling and inter-generational rivalry, but once we saw the rise of “societies” and the rise of religious leaders (shamans) and tribes (with “chiefs”), the quest for power began and the Wetiko greed surfaced.
We are now in the end stages of the conflict, which is being brought on by global warming and resource/environmental depletion, and we can expect ALL “tribes” to be asking their “gods” for divine assistance as they kill for capitalism.

However I agree, I note that essentially the “Religious” extremists of all ideologies share the same intent and goals as ISIS.
I include ideologies and economic disciples in that eclectic mix
Exterminate or convert all heathens and there may not be paradise and 70 virgins, but there is the Rapture and martyrdom .
ISIS uses guns bombs and terror as do other cults, however some are only too happy to have AGW exterminate most life in their Holy War
