Very sad. Of course many of the folks there blame the mess on Obama’s “War on White People” and don’t think the Democrats EVER cared about folks like them (especially ones like FDR and LBJ), so they’re going to vote for those Republicans who want to take more from them and give it to the 1%, thereby “improving” their lives. Good thinking, Kentucky folks—-keep voting for McConnell and Rand Paul.

What strikes me is that there doesn’t seem to be any real from-the-heart belief evident in his delivery in any of these clips. He stumbles a bit as he seems to say to himself “Now what were those talking points that I memorized and practiced that the polls said would go over best with the morons who will be voting in the Republican primaries”?
Nor that the Democrats don’t pander some, but the Repugnant field is doing a reprise of the 2012 race to the bottom, and the last man (waffler) standing is going to need a 20 foot ladder to get out of the hole. (Unless it’s “BS Ben the Brainy Surgeon”, who will have God fill the hole with grain that will then carry him up like an elevator).
I remain firmly convinced that the Kochs et al don’t care at all about who wins the White House. Their strategy is to control all the state legislatures and governors, the Supreme Court and both houses of Congress, and the presidential race helps them by distracting the country from their real objective. There is NO other rational explanation for what we see in this campaign.

Mountain top removal is great. You can transform landscapes that have existed for millions of years into flat building sites. The rights of individual property owners of course should extend to bulldozing their property flat. Those that come after would have photos to remind them of the unsightly forested mountains that once existed there. Environmental criminal extraordinaire.

Yes, indeed—-mountain top removal IS great. Coal mining is dying in VA, and we don’t have as much mountain-top removal as our neighbors. The folks in West VA just love it though, and they’re going to change their motto from “Wild and Wonderful West Virginia” to “Wild and Wonderful and FLAT West Virginia”.
And they DO have wonderful uses for those FLAT areas that have been seeded with non-native grasses and trees and won’t look anywhere near “normal” for a couple hundred years. They have put golf courses on some and built shopping malls on others. Of course, neither have done very well because most WV-an’s “hobbies” trend towards fishing and hunting to keep from starving, and they don’t have much money for the kind of “shopping” that takes place at malls.

It didn’t take her too long to get to, “but isn’t this Obama’s fault”?
All people have to do is tape one episode of Fox views and just play that over and again. Next: “more war on Christmas from the Obama administration and Starbucks”. There. We’re set for the rest of the year.

Although his climate change comment is predictable, they do have a point about political correctness having gone too far. And not just on college campuses as they claim, but throughout our entire society. For example, how easy do you find it to have ANY discussion of climate change with your friends, family and colleagues? It’s been a taboo subject for too long now.

There is certainly some social penalty to stating facts of the matter from some groups within the friends, family, colleagues, circles.
I go ahead full speed ahead anyway, but I can imagine some being more timid when being judged. Still, times like these require courage.

Be grateful Paul they don’t just take deniers like you and your ilk outside and string you up from the nearest lamppost or serve you a Pb sandwich.
People like you, who have power and influence, that are trying to dismiss the global climate threat we are living under, are traitors, both to their country and to humanity at large. The science of global warming has been settled for a very long time (in that we’ve known ( #exxonknew ) for many decades that our activities are causing it). You have no legitimate excuse.

Why would the FBI visit me over this? I’m just volunteering, with the presumption that the swine will be afforded all their due process rights and be convicted and sentenced to death—that’s when I’d be willing to get involved, and I’d even bring my own gun and ammunition.
