Rush: Water on Mars? Another Marxist Plot from NASA

September 29, 2015

The net effect of climate denial, tobacco denial, and science denial in general is to create a population that does not trust science, evidence, or fact, and instead relies on the pronouncements of ideological zealots like Rush Limbaugh and Donald Trump, who serve their own ends, and in general, those of the most wealthy and powerful in society.

The current status of the GOP nomination process shows just how advanced that process is.  For a Republican candidate to opine that the earth is more than 5000 years old is considered edgy and risky with the base.  And of course, climate science, as this quote from right wing radio blowhard Rush Limbaugh shows,  is beyond the pale.

Media Matters:

RUSH LIMBAUGH: There’s so much fraud. Snerdly came in today ‘what’s this NASA news, this NASA news is all exciting.’ I said yeah they found flowing water up there. ‘No kidding! Wow! Wow!’ Snerdly said ‘flowing water!?’ I said ‘why does that excite you? What, are you going there next week? What’s the big deal about flowing water on Mars?’ ‘I don’t know man but it’s just it’s just wow!’ I said ‘you know what, when they start selling iPhones on Mars, that’s when it’ll matter to me.’ I said ‘what do you think they’re gonna do with this news?’ I said ‘look at the temperature data, that has been reported by NASA, has been made up, it’s fraudulent for however many years, there isn’t any warming, there hasn’t been for 18.5 years. And yet, they’re lying about it. They’re just making up the amount of ice in the North and South Poles, they’re making up the temperatures, they’re lying and making up false charts and so forth. So what’s to stop them from making up something that happened on Mars that will help advance their left-wing agenda on this planet?’ And Snerdly paused ‘oh oh yeah you’re right.’ You know, when I play golf with excellent golfers, I ask them ‘does it ever get boring playing well? Does it ever get boring hitting shot after shot where you want to hit it?’ And they all look at me and smile and say ‘never.’ Well folks, it never gets boring being right either. Like I am. But it doesn’t mean it is any less frustrating. Being right and being alone is a challenging existence. OK so there’s flowing water on Mars. Yip yip yip yahoo. You know me, I’m science 101, big time guy, tech advance it, you know it, I’m all in. But, NASA has been corrupted by the current regime. I want to find out what they’re going to tell us. OK, flowing water on Mars. If we’re even to believe that, what are they going to tell us that means? That’s what I’m going to wait for. Because I guarantee, let’s just wait and see, this is September 28, let’s just wait and see. Don’t know how long it’s going to take, but this news that there is flowing water on Mars is somehow going to find its way into a technique to advance the leftist agenda. I don’t know what it is, I would assume it would be something to do with global warming and you can — maybe there was once an advanced civilization. If they say they found flowing water, next they’re going to find a graveyard.

If he’s serious, Rush is either on drugs (which has happened before), or he is one of the sickest SOB’s on the planet. Or maybe it’s the piles of $$$$ he earns spouting this craziness and he’s just greedy (which is a sickness in itself).

First he repeats the outright lies about global warming, and then somehow segues from those lies to an accusation that this Mars discovery is going to be turned into something that will advance the “left wing agenda”?

That’s totally bat-shit crazy, and sounds like something Palin or Bachmann would have said on one of their worst days. You’ve got to be either sick (or very well rehearsed and paid to sling right wing BS) to make that kind of a statement.

His statement that “…folks, it never gets boring being right …Like I am” merely seals the deal on what a flaming anal orifice he is. Which makes me ask if there is any way we can orchestrate a fight to the death between Rush and The Donald? No matter how it turned out, the world would be a better place.

And for the folks on the other side of the pond, I am totally gobsmacked at what a wanker Rush Limbaugh is, and apologize that he’s about the Ugliest American we have ever inflicted on the world. There has been talk about prosecuting Exxon, but Limbaugh may ultimately end up bearing responsibility for more deaths than Hitler and his cronies—-he should be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.

  2. It’s possible that Snerdly really did say that Rush was right.

    • dumboldguy Says:

Yeah, Snerdly probably DID say it, although he had to “pause” a bit before replying. I doubt that it was a crisis of conscience over agreeing with the lie, though, because Snerdly has been around long enough to know what’s expected of him to earn his (probably) inflated salary—-like kissing Limbaugh’s drug-laden fat ass and supporting his outrageous lying BS.

      • Snerdly describes Limbaugh to “Dr. Chap” beginning at 18:19, about 15 seconds into this video.

        • dumboldguy Says:

I found the Snerdly ass-kissing beginning at ~21:19 rather than 18:19, and came near to throwing up my breakfast. Snerdly says Rush is “….the most incredible broadcaster in history….”??? Yep, Snerdly has his nose so far up there that it’s good his natural complexion is brown.

Snerdly lies with a straight face, also “….26 years and Rush’s ratings don’t go down”, says Snerdly? WRONG! The Gas Bag’s rating ARE going down, but perhaps not fast enough.

  3. There’s that zombie lie again, that there’s been no warming for the past 18.5 years. Again, it’s based on the statistical fraud of picking an el nino year with a relatively large temperature increase and then noting that the following years show a lower rate of increase.

If you don’t kill a zombie lie by driving a stake through its heart, it’ll keep coming back.

    • Andy Lee Robinson Says:

To drive a stake through a heart, you have to find it first!

    • BL Brown Says:

Stakes are for vampires– for zombies, you need a head shot. And for ‘zombies’ like Rush, we need to go after the $$$. He’s lost a lot of sponsors and a lot of outlets. But the corporate conspiracy behind him is the real problem– they’ve been paying him and the rest of the right-wing grifter crowd to get everyday Americans in a lather about taxes and government so they can push through tax-breaks for themselves (and a license to buy politicians from the ‘Supremes’). A campaign of mass distraction, aimed at mass destruction.

      • dumboldguy Says:

Andy Lee is right about having trouble finding any “heart” in the lies or the liars, but you are correct that head shots will be necessary (if Walking Dead is to be believed).

The problem I see is that when Rush’s head is opened up to kill the zombie lies within that there will be such a tsunami of rottenness and right-wing BS flowing out that it will poison half the land in the U.S. for decades to come (just as it has infected so many brains).

Maybe we should experiment a bit start with those who have fewer zombie lies embedded as a warmup before we tackle Rush? Coulter, Jones, Will, Krauthammer?

  4. ubrew12 Says:

“it never gets boring being right either.” Maybe not for you. It would be pretty exciting for the rest of us if you were right, however.

  6. Andy Lee Robinson Says:

Forget terrorists, RWNJs like this are public enemy #1.

There has to be a law somewhere against filling people’s heads with such total shit against their own good and the good of everything else on the planet.

If it’s an offence to scream “Fire!” in a crowded cinema, then surely it should be a greater offence to scream “No Fire!” when there demonstrably is one?

I despair that a handful of dodos will bring down the entire civilization because they cannot perceive a reality beyond the comfortable illusion they create for themselves and try to maintain at all costs.

    • dumboldguy Says:

Yep, but as BL points out, the bought and paid for Supremes will declare it unconstitutional as soon as any such law surfaces.

(great first and last sentences, BTW)

  7. The American liberal – 1% smarter than a creationist, 5% dumber than a chimp with a stick.

    • greenman3610 Says:

all due respect, but I think in the Venn diagram of liberals, climate deniers and creationists,
the greatest overlap would be creationist/denier. ie Roy Spencer. And, watch here

especially starting about 1:47. Accomodations made for “young earth creationists”.

    • dumboldguy Says:

And without any “due respect”, Eric Smith appears to be dumber than a brick.
