John Stewart on Climate March and Clueless Deniers

September 25, 2014

If you have not yet seen this, drop everything now and make time.

Comedy Central seems to have learned from  John Oliver and HBO that posting bits to YouTube, instead of keeping them bottled up on their hard-to-embed-proprietery viewer, makes sense.

Oliver was hugely successful with his Bill Nye the Science Guy Climate Denier clip a few months ago. This piece by Stewart went up this morning and has 150k + views. already.

Below, see Oliver’s piece, which has over 4 million views.

“As Patrick Michaels of the libertarian Cato Institute has written, since 2000, 14 peer-reviewed papers, published by 42 authors, many of whom are key contributors to the reports of the IPCC, have concluded that climate sensitivity is low because net feedbacks are modest. They arrive at this conclusion based on observed temperature changes, ocean-heat uptake and the balance between warming and cooling emissions (mainly sulfate aerosols). On average, they find sensitivity to be 40% lower than the models on which the IPCC relies.

If these conclusions are right, they would explain the failure of the Earth’s surface to warm nearly as fast as predicted over the past 35 years, a time when—despite carbon-dioxide levels rising faster than expected—the warming rate has never reached even two-tenths of a degree per decade and has slowed down to virtually nothing in the past 15 to 20 years. This is one reason the latest IPCC report did not give a “best estimate” of sensitivity and why it lowered its estimate of near-term warming.”

Patrick Michaels? BWA-HA-HA-HA! You are surely kidding if you think he has any credibility.

He is one of the most discredited and disgraced deniers of them all. He was fired as the state climatologist of my state, Virginia, because he was a lying POS in the employ of the fossil fuel interests.

“As for the Obamas taking separate jets to LA, no carbon footprints to see here, folks, move along.”

“These models can’t even predict what happened in the past,” Christy said. “Doesn’t that ring alarm bells in your mind about trusting this as a policy tool?”

    • dumboldguy Says:

John Christy? BWA-HA-HA-HA! Another denier charlatan (who is best buddies with Roy Spencer). It is obvious that you have been given the Handbook for Denier Trolls and tasked with parroting its contents. Do you ever have an original (and rational) thought?

    Interview with Professor Richard Lindzen

    • dumboldguy Says:

I made it through the first minute. Lindzen needs to take public speaking lessons. He also needs to get a brain that is not full of BS (I’d suggest you loan him yours, but yours IS full of BS and therefore useless to him).

      Boooooooooooring BS.

  7. roaldjlarsen Says:

“Remember folks, the IPCC’s official upper bound is 4.5°C, but Stevens’ results suggest that ECS can’t be above 1.8°C. Jim Hansen, Bob Ward, Kevin Trenberth, Michael Mann and Gavin Schmidt, your climate alarmism just took one helluva beating.”
