Tyson on Flat Earthers. Sagan on Climate Change.

I missed the first episode of the new “Cosmos” series, on a deadline – but reviews are good, will have to catch up as I can.
Above, Neil DeGrasse Tyson on the new series, and our current “Flat Earth” contingent.
Below, Carl Sagan gives a warning we’d have done well to heed 24 years ago.

The way I see it, with David Koch running PBS’s Nova, Rupert and Roger just simply couldn’t let Koch get ahead in the right wing populist-quasi-science category. You know how competitive these reality-TV realists are, eh? 🙂
Me? I’m waiting for Putin to give us real Russian reality on RT.com.

One reason is that the series’ main financial backer is none other than Seth MacFarlane. That’s right, the creator of, and voice of Peter Griffin (among others) on, the animated FOX series “Family Guy.”
Perhaps in a future episode of FG Peter can have a titanic knock-down drag-out, not with a giant chicken, but with Anthony Watt. Would be highly cathartic for this viewer, at least, to see the latter soundly thrashed.
