Merry Christmas to you, whatever you think of greenpeace they have courage standing up to the Russians, and are not famous for drunkenness or debauchery. After the Arctic only the Antarctic remains pristine. Are we going to sacrifice that too ?

Who was drunk and dishevelled in the Arctic incident ?

  6. But once Tommy’s excitement is over and begins to open the box. Joy turns to sorrow. On the back of the box “Assembly required: Mounting brackets, cables, batteries, inverters, and charge controller sold separately”.

Merry Christmas climate blog folks! Have a safe and happy one, and a positive- feedback-free new year!

  8. Peter, good one. You know, in 1988 Dr Jesse Ausubel at Rockefelloer University in NYC wrote an academic paper, 1988 mind you, calling for this: “we must tighten the noose around coal”….and he was writing from a global warming wake up call standpoint and still now, 2014 almost, his words remain mostly invisible to the general public. SO AGAIN: we must tighten the noose around coal. For future generations’ sake. Google his name Peter and google that sentence and maybe do a post next year on this idea and image of a noose around coal (and oil and gas)?
I met him via Andy Revkin at Dot Earth blog a few years ago. I did a post on my blog about that image from Ausubel, and asked a cartoonist in Chicago Mary MacDonald to do an illustration and she did. You can find it somewhere on my blogspot. Happy Boxing Day from Taiwan, where there is no Christmas but lots of coal imported from Alaska. SIGH

  9. my graduation speech to the class of 2099 on we must tighten the noose around coal, got 10,000 hits since i put it up

  10. Christmas list.
    Renewable future
    End to fossil fuel burning
    Sustainable world
    Inner tranquility
    Love for all.
