Music Break: As a Feather

November 17, 2013

A reader sent me this link – it appears to be a Russian(?) language site, so I’m guessing this is some kind of “Siberia Has Talent” production.

Today’s assignment:

Watch this video, then write a short reaction, no more than one paragraph, indicating what this might have to do with our discussion here.

AGW is an incredibly complicated fraud.

  2. MorinMoss Says:

It’s the little things that can topple the system.

  3. Almost as fragile as our economic system

  4. The feather will have no effect getting our children and grand children to smile again when they figure out that we didn’t to anything about CO2 emissions when we had the chance.

  5. NevenA Says:

It takes a lot of time to build, little time to destroy. Such is life.

  6. Andy Lee Robinson Says:

It’s a powerful illustration of how dependencies in an ecosystem can collapse quickly if a provider disturbed, and is a visual metaphor for what will happen to us if phytoplankton continues to decline, oceans overfished, and the planet warms too quickly, etc, etc, etc…

  7. A collapse is an inbuild feature for a system that is believed to be sustainable.

The Climate Movement is like a house of cards.

    • dumboldguy Says:

Yes, and every last card in the deck is the Ace of Spades. The “Movement” is busily pinning them on the bodies of deniers and their dead and dying arguments (figuratively speaking of course, Peter wouldn’t want us to frighten anyone here, even those who are apparently not frightened by the consequences of ignoring biblical injunctions to not bear false witness).

    • daveburton Says:

      All of them jokers, apparently!

      • dumboldguy Says:

No, Dave, they are not jokers, although you may be trying to be one yourself.

In your single-minded avoidance of truth, you have refused to notice that I specified they were all THE ACE OF SPADES, known as the “Death Card” down through time. My reference alluded to what the 101st. Airborne did with such cards in Viet Nam. Those who know that AGW is real have been been pinning them on the dead ideas of deniers for quite some time. Too bad you haven’t noticed.

  9. dumboldguy Says:

The evidence for AGW keeps building. It is complex and interwoven, and its elements are mutually supporting. Arguments from the likes of “Sea Level Dave”, which have no more weight than a feather, have unfortunately been all too effective in confusing the members of the general public, although polls indicate that even the ignorant and ill-informed are beginning to understand the scientific truths. Feathers will be even more weightless in the future.
