From Media Matters. Worth it for the look on Bill Nye’s face when he realizes the depth of stupidity he was dealing with – and his slowed-down cadence in carefully explaining physics to the Fox talking head – in terms of cupcakes.

For Faux News appearances, Bill Nye needs to lose the bow-tie and put on a purple dinosaur suit.
Speaking of Bill Nye:

Bill was excellent, Tom Foreman’s dragging the track over DC and NYC ???
Fox doesn’t need a science class. They need a gag order.

I hesitate to link to it because I don’t want to propagate misinformation and for everyone’s heads to explode, but the Nye vs. Morano debate reveals how hard it can be for a general scientist to oppose disinformation. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gWT-EWKIR3M
Rhetorically, Morano won the debate resoundingly even though every single thing he said was hogwash. But I would bet that 75% of the neutral people who watched it would conclude that Morano had better arguments. I actually wrote CNN a letter to complain about this segment.
My point is that this is a street fight, and that people like Nye aren’t really up for it. CNN needs to call for people who are in the persuasion business and possibly more scientists (like John Abraham). Or they need to invite guests who at least have a record of not making misstatements.

Well Marano didn’t quite win this one against Andrew Watson http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gpEGBgHxNTQ
