Mitt: “I never said rising seas are a joke”

November 4, 2012

Rapidly going viral.

Description:

At a campaign event today in Etna, Ohio, Governor Romney was asked, “Do you still think the rising of the seas is funny?” Romney responded, “I never imagined such a thing is funny,” despite using rising sea levels as a punchline in his speech to the Republican National Convention.

Did Romney ever joke about rising seas? You Decide.

How in the hell can any decent citizen even think this punk is worthy of being a President? If past is prologue and Romney steals the election, we’re doomed…

    Alternet headline:

Democracy Danger Signs: Mitt Romney’s 800+ Vetoes as Mass. Governor
Romney’s blocks were overridden over 95% of the time.

This is taking “Just say No!” to the point of absolute absurdity.

Why would anyone expect a truthful answer? The only issue was what form the lie would be. All of us lie from time to time, but Mitt has raised lying to a signature speaking style. I guess he’s got such ignorant advisors that he thinks that what worked in the primaries with his fundamentalist base will work in the general with people of average or better intelligence. Mitt, we heard what you said and how you said it. We saw you pause for effect. We know what you meant. You’re not at a Tea Party rally any more.

  3. What book is that? Has anyone read that chapter? A whole chapter?

The Guardian has a couple of YouTube ads on Romney’s blunders regarding climate change.

Mitt put his foot in his mouth when he uttered those words. But he certainty represents the republican views on science- and the rest of the people voting for him, or are equally clueless of what is happening.

As I’ve just mentioned on my own blog, there’s was a case back in 2002 where Edmund Stoiber (conservative) was ahead in the polls but then lost the election largely because of some unhelpful comments he made about climate change.

The Germans decided to give Schroeder a 2nd chance, as he took his science from “textbooks” not the back of supermarket tabloids.

Hint to Romney, telling people that climate change isn’t real while their slopping out their flooded homes isn’t a good way to win friends and influence people.

  7. […] Indeed, he’s now in trouble for a joke he made at the RNC about climate change, a joke he’s now denying making (I did not have sexual relations with that […]
