Large fluxes of carbon, material and water pass from the Siberian Tundra to the Arctic Ocean. Örjan Gustafsson, professor of bio-geochemistry at Stockholm University has studied the effects that these fluxes have on the climate.

Great riches to the souls who can separate, and compress methane to liquid natural gas, on great (possibly Chinese) ships, from these waters! Fuel for an exploding Pan Eurasian Empire! The “separator” process, a low energy, common system, the trapping, cleaning, and separation from CO2 very common technology, the compressing to LNG, a time tested process in common use! The Challenge? Detect the anomalous waters highest in methane, and this ship, these adventurers, do exactly this! Canada’s Northern shores, Greenland’s, Iceland’s, Even Alaska’s shores, fair game for an enterprising spirit!

When do we start sizing assets from the corrupt fossil industry and put them into jail, for crimes against humanity?

tobacco style trials against the fossil fuel industry are on the horizon.

So you keep saying, Peter, but why all the secrecy? Also, in what ind of timescale is this likely to happen? All the evidence suggests we have less than 8 years to make radical changes or face catastrophic consequences. Therefore, do we have the time to wait for this legal process to run its course?

not really secret. I have not done enough research to make detailed statements.
there is at least one case I know of, brought by some innuits from the arctic, that is making its way thru the courts.
if that fails, another one is going to make it.
The planet is going to take a hit, no question. Some industry’s will be called to account. Its probably too much to hope for that individuals will be jailed.

I agree with your last point: If Greenspan et al can avoid jail for causing the Financial Meltdown, there is no reason to think any Michaels and Lindzen will be jailed for causing AGW; and Singer will almost certainly be dead.

Great item. “I thought I found my sea legs after two days…but during every major storm it’s throwing-up and back to work again.”
Very brave people.
