2000 Year Old Food Forest

July 23, 2011

Ask the questions that have no answers.
Invest in the millenium. Plant sequoias.
Say that your main crop is the forest
that you did not plant,
that you will not live to harvest.

We’re coming to a critical point when it comes to climate change…

Confirmed: Deforestation Plays Critical Climate Change Role:

“ScienceDaily (May 11, 2007) — New research confirms that avoiding deforestation can play a key role in reducing future greenhouse gas concentrations. Scientists report in the journal Science that tropical deforestation releases 1.5 billion tonnes of carbon each year into the atmosphere.”

And now we’re also coming to so called “green fuel” and substitutes for fossil fuels => 101 East – The price of palm oil, but also => Forests – The Palm Oil Threat

Monocultures are concentration camps for plants. They only can survive with artificial help (fertilisers, pesticides… name it, all made of oil and gas). We have to understand AND accept and that our greed for unsustainable growth gets us to nowhere than sudden death.

Life is good for learning. Evolution has always been built on experience… If we want to survive as a human race (and fascistic or/and aryan “believes” don’t apply anymore for a worldwide problem!) we have to learn to decelerate, slow down, de-accelerate. Makes life much easier, I’ll tell you 🙂

Every little helps. And every little start for a change is a start…
