Barry Brook on Fukushima: “A Great Victory for Fossil Fuels”

Professor Barry Brook holds the Foundation Sir Hubert Wilkins Chair of Climate Change and is Director of Climate Science at The Environment Institute, University of Adelaide.

He authors the blog Brave New Climate, which argues that climate change is a primary challenge of this century, and nuclear energy is an important part of the solution.

Below the fold, a San Francisco television station interviewed students and professors at UC Berkeley’s School of Nuclear Engineering.  Their take?

Radiation so far very low on the west coast, and zirconium fuel rods, like those in the Fukushima reactors and spent fuel pools, cannot, they say, catch fire.  Watch the demonstration.

    1. Thanks for that. Really confirms what I’ve been saying about Brook for some time. Added to notes.

I ‘get’ ACC denial – just. But the blind, ideological love of nuclear just puzzles me. The nuke fan club are totally immune to all evidence and arguments that spoil their dreams of a nuclear utopia.
